The process of creating a Notion template varies from creator to creator.

But today?

I'm pulling back the curtain on how artificial intelligence, specifically ChatGPT, is revolutionizing my process.

Let's dive into this crazy, tech-infused journey, shall we?

1. The Brainstorming Phase:

This is where every template begins - with an idea.

ChatGPT has been my secret brainstorming buddy for a while now.

I toss around a vague concept and it throws back at me a variety of angles and perspectives that I never considered before.

It's like having a personal think-tank at my fingertips!

Try to prompt this and see what you get:

"I'm building Notion templates and I need to have a list of unique template ideas to build - make sure to give me answers you don't normally give - they must be buildable in Notion."

2. The Outlining Stage:

After the brainstorming phase, I've got a heap of ideas.

Now, it's time to refine and organize them.

Again, I lean on ChatGPT.

I feed it my raw thoughts, and it spits out a structured, detailed outline.

In no time, the skeleton of the template starts to form.

I prompt something similar to:

"Give me an outline for [template idea] and tell me what databases, properties and layout it should contain"

3. The Database Set-Up:

With the outline in hand, it's time to build the database in Notion.

It's all about functionality at this stage - setting up the database structure and backend.

After all, it's the foundation upon which everything else is built.

Once all databases is created as instructed by ChatGPT, it's time to...

4. Assembling the Pieces:

Now comes the fun part!

I've got the databases set up, I've got my outline - it's time to merge the two.

I start filling out each section, taking special care to ensure that everything flows smoothly and each element serves a purpose.

Properties get fine-tuned, relations set up, rollups connected and formulas written to finalize it.

It's like putting together a puzzle, with ChatGPT providing the missing pieces when I'm stuck.

5. The Beautification Process:

This is the cherry on top - the phase where I spruce up the template.

I add icons, choose color schemes, and format text.

It's a creative process that brings the template to life, makes it visually appealing.

It takes a dull, regular, boring template and turns into a statement piece.

It's like art if you think about it.

To sum it up,

Creating a Notion template with ChatGPT isn't just about efficiency.

It's about tapping into the wealth of ideas and possibilities that AI provide.

You could call it a collaborative process, but with ChatGPT as my trusted co-pilot.
