Hey, it's Pascio.

When we embark on this wild ride called life, it's easy to think that the final destination is a house on the beach, a fancy car, or a bank account that would make a sultan blush.

But along this mad journey, I found something else - something more important than any of the above.

I found self-development.

Now, before you think I've joined a monastery and given up on worldly possessions, hear me out.

I'm still grinding, hustling, and making my way in the world.

But, the difference is that I no longer put material things on a pedestal.

Instead, my priority is self-development.

Why?

Because it has helped me become more resilient, understanding, and compassionate.

It has made me a better entrepreneur, a better partner, a better human being.

And one philosophy, in particular, has shaped my path significantly:

Stoicism.

Stoicism, the philosophy of emperors and slaves alike, taught me lessons that I couldn't learn in any business book or entrepreneurship course.

It made me realize that the things we often chase - wealth, fame, power - are externals, beyond our control.

Do you know what is within our control?

Our mind.

Our actions.

Our responses to what life throws at us.

One of the most potent Stoic lessons that helped me shape up my perspective is this:

"It's not things that upset us, but our judgments about those things."

Sounds simple, doesn't it?

But if you think about it, this lesson is a game-changer.

It helped me reshape my perspective on failures, rejections, and even success.

I learned not to take setbacks personally and to keep my ego in check when things went right.

The Stoics also had a thing or two to say about self-discipline.

They believed that discipline was the key to freedom.

You'd think it'd be the other way around, right?

But it's not.

Being disciplined with my time, my habits, and my work gave me the freedom to build a life that I wanted.

It allowed me to build my business, keep my relationships healthy, and still have time for myself.

And let me tell you something...

It's worth it.

Because at the end of the day, what you become in the process of achieving your goals is far more important than the goals themselves.

Stoicism also led me to build my Stoic Life Operating system

This life management system deeply rooted in the Stoic philosophy,

Served as my guiding light through the choppy waters of entrepreneurship.

It taught me to organize my life and focus only on what's essential,

And remain grounded even when things go haywire.

You see, when I chose self-development, I chose growth.

And growth is not always comfortable or easy.

It means facing your flaws, pushing your boundaries, and getting out of your comfort zone.

It means being honest with yourself and taking responsibility for your actions.

It means acknowledging that most bad things that happen in life is your fault.

Tomorrow, I'll dive deeper into the lessons I learned building a solopreneur business and how Stoicism helped me navigate it.
